An Exploration 52 has successfully transited the Northwest Passage.

This summer, the build-up of ice in Bellot Strait has made for particularly difficult progress for boats attempting the Northwest Passage. All the sailing boats currently in the area have had to suspend their westward passage. Even the cruiseships have had to change their route and have turned back. Only a Garcia Exploration 52, with whom Nature was a little more lenient, managed to make its way through the icefields and reach the open waters further west. A reminder that this passage remains one of the most delicate, demanding and arduous voyages; the kind of place you only venture when you have total confidence in your boat.
