The freedom to sail where few ever go

THE CENTERBOARDER GETS YOU EVERYWHERE

Thanks to its shallow draft, the Exploration 45 can access lagoons, shallow waters and the most remote and tranquil beaches. Even the most adventurous can venture into poorly mapped areas. In the event of bad weather, the centerboarder offers the reassuring possibility of accessing protected shelter zones, even in shallow waters.

Large tanks for self-sufficiency

With its 500 L freshwater tanks, Watermaker and 700 L diesel tanks, the Exploration 45 is a true Blue water yacht, capable of sailing far from marinas for long periods of time, with complete independence. Hydrogenerator, Solar panels, Generator, energy autonomy is also assured by a choice of equipment. The most remote regions are accessible for long periods.

LARGE CARRYING CAPACITY

The Exploration 45 also has a real Workshop for tools and spare parts. With its numerous interior stowages, large sail locker and voluminous exterior storage spaces, the Exploration 45 offers an exceptional carrying capacity of almost 2 tons. Paddles, bicycles, sports equipment such as skis and scuba tanks can be taken on board for all types of leisure or exploration.

EASILY ACCESSIBLE SYSTEMS

On board a Garcia, nothing is left to chance. All essential onboard systems - hull passages, fuel and water systems, electrical networks, technical equipment - are designed from the outset to be easily accessible, whether for a routine check, a maintenance operation or a one-off intervention at sea.

GO ANYWHERE,
SAFELY

THE SERENITY OF AN ALUMINIUM HULL

The 45-foot aluminium hull , with thicknesses ranging from 5 to 12 mm, is amply dimensioned, ensuring foolproof shock resistance in the event of a bad encounter. For even greater peace of mind, the structure features a watertight bulkhead at the bow, as well as at the stern, upstream of the helm system.

PROTECTED APPENDAGES

The propeller shaft is wrapped in a fin. The rudders, made of aluminium and preceded by a protective skeg, also feature a composite sacrificial zone at the top. In the event of impact, should the wick bend, the hull is preserved and the rudder remains functional.

OUTDOOR MONITORING POST

Inspired by IMOCA yachts, the helm station on every Garcia Exploration is sheltered by a rigid cap positioned just outside the companionway. From the seated position, it offers excellent protection, forward visibility, and proximity to sail handling — making it the ideal complement to the interior helm station. For added protection in rough weather, this area can also be enclosed with a removable canvas. Integrated handrails ensure safe movement on deck in all conditions.

INTERIOR WATCH STATION

On board the Exploration 45, the design of the interior space contributes directly to safe navigation. The chart table is set up as an Interior helm station station, with immediate access to navigation instruments and engine controls, and is ideally positioned forward of the saloon for a view of the road ahead. Whatever the external conditions, the helmsman can keep his watch in the warmth and dryness of the boat's center. He remains connected to life on board, while enjoying a 270° panoramic view of the outside environment.

270° VIEW TO THE OUTSIDE

On a Blue water yacht Garcia Exploration, at anchor or in port, you're inside in constant interaction with the outside. Whether seated or standing, the large glass surfaces and hull portholes give young and old alike a constant view of the outside, the sea, the sails and the landscape. This unique feeling of being outside while being inside is incomparable when you live on a long-distance boat.

THERMAL INSULATION

Big cold or tropical heat, with its 74 mm hull thermal insulation, insulated floors, double glazing and wide vents, the Exploration 45 protects its crew from extreme temperatures. The boat can be heated by radiators fed by a central diesel-fired boiler. Heat is distributed evenly and silently. This equipment also provides soundproofing, both at sea and at anchor in high winds. Aboard the Exploration 45, comfort is total and serene.

QUALITY of finish

Every detail on board reflects the exacting standards and refinement that are the Garcia signature. Materials are selected for their quality, durability and aesthetic appeal, then meticulously assembled. The interior design, by Isabelle Racoupeau, combines contemporary elegance, functionality at sea and warmth for living. Fine brushed aluminum trim runs elegantly around the woodwork, enhancing the interior design. The lighting, carefully studied, combines abundant natural light with LED strips to create a soothing ambience, day and night. Tinted woodwork, upholstery or hullcolor... each yacht can be tastefully customized to reflect the personality of its owners. Because living aboard a Garcia means choosing an aesthetic as demanding as your program.

performance and
maneuverability

A MODERN, PERFORMANCE HULL

Garcia Exploration yachts are designed by world-renowned architect Olivier Racoupeau. The Exploration hulls offer a clever compromise between performance and comfort. Anchor chain, water and fuel tanks, all weights are centered to optimize seaworthiness and sailing comfort. Easy to trim solo, Exploration 45 ocean-going sailboats boast daily averages in excess of 160 miles, shortening distances.

EASY TO OPERATE WITH A REDUCED CREW

With their ergonomic deck layout, generously dimensioned, first-rate fittings, well-staggered sail plan, and cockpit-based manoeuvring, Exploration has been designed to be manoeuvred with a reduced crew, or even solo.

STABILITY WHEN SAILING DOWNWIND WITH THE CENTERBOARD RAISED

On an Exploration, downwind with the centerboard up, drag is reduced and the center of the daggerboard is moved back, making the boat particularly smooth. Behavior is smoother. In breaking waves, thanks to the two rudders and the raised centerboard, the boat glides through the wave, without hooking, thus controlling overspeed descent, even under autopilot.
